4. FREE Snowshoeing

Have you ever wanted to try out snowshoeing!? Now’s your chance with the Town of Ajax!

When?

  • Open for the season (until warm weather comes)

Where?

  • Fill out form online first: Snowshoe rental form
  • Wait for approval
  • Pick up snowshoes at McLean Community Centre
  • 95 Magill Drive, Ajax

Cost?

  • FREE
  • $20 deposit refunded when snowshoes are returned in same condition

What?

  • Rent up to 4 pair of snowshoes for up to 3 days!

5. Lake Simcoe Ice Fishing Derbies

Calling all fisherman, here’s your chance to show off your angling skills

When?

  • January 1st – March 15th, 2025

Where?

  • Lake Simcoe

Cost?

  • $25 per person

What?

  • Catch a fish, take a picture with measuring tape and your ticket and then submit it.
  • Panfish & Gamefish entries

Back for its 2nd annual event Fire & Stars event, this year Sibbald Point has 1 weekend left to enjoy hiking by torchlight under the stars.

  • Reservations OPEN Sunday Feb 9th at 7am and required.
  • Sutton West (February 14th & 15th)
  • 6:30pm – 9pm for self guided tour 
  • 7pm for a guided tour 
  • 2 fire pits 
  • 1 hr – 1.5hrs loop trail (Maidenhair Fern Trail) 
  • You can bring your own snowshoes (we didn’t have any but they would have been cool)
  • $21 per carload of people (price is per car not per person)
